6 Scene SR AUTO
Framed scenes are automatically detected and selected into appropriate camera settings: Portrait, Landscape, Night, Macro, Night Portrait, and Backlit Portrait.

Recognizes portraits by detecting the faces quickly in the frame and optimizing focus, brightness and white balance.
Landscape

Auto Dog / Cat Detection
Featuring the world's first Auto Dog / Cat Detection function, the FinePix JZ500 will take photos of your beloved pets. Working in a similar way to Face Detection, Auto Dog / Cat Detection recognizes the faces of cats or dogs* and optimizes the camera's settings for wonderful pet pictures. An auto release function can also be selected to automatically take a photo when the pet is looking directly at the camera.
- * Up to 10 dog or cat faces per photo; cannot detect pet faces in profile; cannot detect faces in scenes with both dogs and cats in the frame.
Face Recognition
The FinePix JZ500's new Face Recognition technology allows you to ‘register’ up to eight individual faces. When the camera next detects that you are taking a photo of one of your registered faces, the focus and exposure are instantly optimized for that person. Face Recognition also lets you group and sort your photos by your registered faces.
